Lisa Amoriello
Chef A
Chef Lisa Amoriello’s love for cooking began where most chefs get their start… in the kitchen with her mother! She followed her mother‘s (Janice Lord's) footsteps into the field of social work after earning her BSW. However, cooking was always the dream.
Lisa followed her dream to New York, where she attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park.
After graduation, Lisa’s family and roots brought her back to Texas, where she has served in Mansfield ISD as a chef instructor at Ben Barber Innovation Academy and Savvy’s Bistro for 20 years. In 2009, Chef A, as she is known by her students and colleagues, was awarded Teacher of the Year.
Chef A supports Freedom Table as a believer in the power of food and love. Sharing a meal is one of the most intimate things that human beings can do. It brings comfort, breaks barriers, and. encourages conversation.
